Theodor Rudolf Jonni Wulff, born on 1 Feb. 1922, suicide on 27 July 1938 in Hamburg

Oertzgarten, back of the house at Oertzweg 15a

One of the youngest victims of the Nazi persecution of homosexuals was Theodor Wulff. He hanged himself on 27 July 1938 at the age of 16.

He was born in Hamburg on 1 Feb. 1922. Theodor Wulff, who was called Theo, learned the bakery trade and was a member of the Marine Hitler Youth (MHJ). In Nov. 1939, a criminal investigation of another homosexual revealed that he maintained a relationship with Johannes Wagner (born in 1896, died in 1942 in the Bernburg euthanasia killing center), 26 years his senior. He is also said to have shown two slightly younger boys how to masturbate. Presumably, this was the reason for the police investigation of Theodor Wulff and for his suicide.
