Emilie Müllner was born on 9 Jan. 1858 as Emilie Horwitz in Hamburg and married Moses Levy Müllner, born on 1 June 1852 in Kelm. He passed away in 1918. In 1919, Emilie joined the German-Israelitic Community in Hamburg and was listed as a "woman of independent means” ("Privatiere”).
In 1928, Emilie Müllner lived with her daughter Rosa as well as her son Ivan and his family at Ohlendorffstrasse 5. Ivan, born on 18 Nov. 1887 in Hamburg, fought in World War I starting in 1915. He was an authorized signatory and had a reliable income until the world economic crisis. He married Else Müller, born on 5 May 1896. On 1 May 1925, their son Kurt-Alex was born. In 1935, Ivan moved with his family to Mannheim.
Daughter Rosa Müllner, born on 29 Apr. 1889 in Hamburg, worked as a stenographer. She remained unmarried and lived with her mother until 1932. Afterward, she changed her place of residence several times. The last one prior to her deportation to Lodz on 25 Oct. 1941 was at Brahmsallee 13.
No information could be found about another daughter, Selma, born on 15 Aug. 1890.
Emilie Müllner gave up her apartment on Ohlendorffstrasse. She moved to Grindelallee 165 and lived as a subtenant with a man by the name of Jacob. In 1939, she resided in the retirement home at Grünestrasse 5 in Altona. There she learned about the deportation of her daughter Rosa on 25 Oct. 1941 to Lodz. When the home on Grünestrasse in Altona was dissolved in Sept. 1942, the Jewish Community quartered her at Beneckestrasse 6. From there, she was deported to the Theresienstadt Ghetto on 9 June 1943, where she died at New Year’s of 1943, aged almost 86.
