Elisabeth Mendelsohn was born on September 18th, 1902 in Braunschweig an lived in Hamburg at least from 1935, where she lived and worked as a domestic servant, frequently changing addresses And jobs in St. Pauli and Eimsbüttel. Since 1939, her registered address was Carolinenstrasse 24, Haus 5, where she received the deportation order to Riga, effective December 6th, 1941. Presumably, she had already been listed for the transport to the Lodz ghetto on October 25th, 1941, as the note "25. Okt. 41 Aussiedelg.” on her tax card at the Jewish Community indicates.
