The Jewish woman Elsa Montag, a resident of Hamburg, worked as a housekeeper and had one son, Otto Hartmann, who was born in Cologne in 1909. In 1919, she joined the Jewish Community and, according to the information on her tax file card, she resided at frequently changing addresses in Hamburg-Neustadt and in St. Pauli. She was married to Fritz Montag, whom she divorced, however. Prior to her deportation on 11 July 1942 to Auschwitz, she lived at Eckernförderstrasse 94.
