Carl Heinrich Siegbert Philippsohn, born 4.6.1896 in Dresden, murdered in Auschwitz on 18.2.1943

last residential address: Greifswalder Strasse 42

Although the death book of the Auschwitz concentration camp listed the inmate Carl Philippsohn as "faithless" in the denomination section, the Nazi regime treated him as a "full Jew" according to its racist definition. He was the son of Ludwig and Julie Philippsohn, née Kohn. Further, all that is known of him is that he had lived on Greifswalder Strasse in St. Georg "with Ahrens" since 1936 and was remanded in custody in March 1940. When he was deported to Auschwitz is unknown, only his date of death, February 18, 1943, was meticulously recorded by the "accountants of death" in the death camp.
