Dagny Henriette Prager, b. 1.16.1883 in Oslo, deported to Auschwitz on 7.11.1942

Alardusstraße 14

Dagny Henriette Prager, the daughter of Hermann and Jenny (or Henny) Prager, née Levy, worked as a bank clerk. Born in Oslo, Norway (Oslo was called Christiania until 1924), she nevertheless possessed German citizenship. Along with Leonie Alma Lippke, née Prager (b. 5.31.1881), she was fined 100 RM on 20 June 1940 by the Hamburg District Court for the non-adoption of a Jewish given name, according to §§ 1, 4 Identity Card VO, 2, 4 Name VO Both women had neglected to register the compulsory name "Sara.” Before the verdict was delivered, Dagny was imprisoned in the Fuhlsbüttel concentration camp from 15 until 19 June 1940. Leonie Alma, who was also born in Oslo and married to the non-Jew Hermann Lippke, was presumably her sister; she lived at the Alardusstrasse 14 address. In the 1950s, there was an H. Lippke listed in the directory at this address. It is possible that Leonie Alma had survived, thanks to the protection of her "mixed marriage.”

At the beginning of 1942, Dagny Henriette Prager lived in the "Jew house” at Bundesstrasse 43, until she was deported to Auschwitz on 11 July 1942 and immediately murdered there, like all the Jews on her transport.
