Elsa Sprei, born on 11 Nov. 1900 in Nowy Wisnicz in Poland, deported on 25 Oct. 1941 to Lodz

Else Sprei’s parents were Heinrich and Lotti Sprei. Since 1936 at the latest, Elsa Sprei worked as an office employee and – according to the deportation list – subsequently as a domestic help in Hamburg. She resided at Isestrasse 21 as a subtenant of Recha Lübke.

On 25 Oct. 1941, she was deported to the Lodz Ghetto. She lived there at Hausierer Gasse 6 on the fourth floor and probably worked in the camp’s workshops. Whether she died due to the inhumane living conditions or when and where she was murdered is not known.
