The Jewish couple Walther and Anna Casper and their daughter Irene lived first at Am Andreasbrunnen 3, then in the 1930s at Sierichstraße 84. They moved at the latest in 1938 to the widow B. Zahn’s boarding house at An der Alster 1 in St. Georg. The family lived there until December 1940, when Walther emigrated to Honduras. His wife and daughter remained behind. They worked as household help, and a short time later were forced to move to the "Jews’ house” at Haynstraße 7.
In July 1941, Irene was arrested for unknown reasons (probably on charges of "racial defilement”) and sent to the Fuhlsbüttel Concentration Camp. From there she was sent to the Ravensbrück Concentration Camp in June 1942, where she was registered as a "racial defiler.” She was later deported to Auschwitz, where she was murdered on 16 October 1942.
The Hamburg Nazi authoriites forced her mother Anna to move to the "Jews’ house” at Kleiner Schäferkamp 32 in November 1941, and later to the "Jews’ house” at Schlachterstraße 40, from where she was deported to Auschwitz on 11 July 1942.
