Johanna Jüdell was born in Altona. She married Feodor Stern, a pushcart peddler, born in Essen-Borbeck on 12.1.1871, also of Jewish descent. The marriage produced a son, Felix, born 7.9.1899.

The couple was deported on 15 July 1942. Johanna Stern’s address in "the old people’s ghetto,” Theresienstadt, was building Q 808, room 02. On the morning of 8 February 1943, she died there. The death certificate reads, gastroenteritis; an exact cause of death is not noted. Her husband Feodor survived the ghetto. His subsequent fate and that of his son Felix are not known.
