Isestrasse 36 was the residence of the brothers Eduard and Arnold Meyer. Their parents were Salomon and Susanna Meyer, née Sussmann. Arnold Meyer and his wife Frieda had no children. For Arnold Meyer, the occupation indicated in the Jewish religious tax (Kultussteuer) card file is "male nurse” in addition to "state employee.” Probably he worked in a public hospital, being dismissed in 1934 and afterward earning a living as a private nurse and masseur. His wife received 70 RM (reichsmark) a month in support payments from her sister Ella. They supplemented their income by subletting.

Arnold Meyer’s brother Eduard was widowed and had one son, Salo, born in 1914, and a daughter, Emma, born in 1915, as well as another daughter, Bertha, who was born in 1919 but died early. His first wife, Clara, passed away in 1926. Salo emigrated to Palestine in 1934, his sister Emma went to Sweden in 1935. On 2 Feb. 1936, Eduard Meyer married Harriet Schnabel, and since their wedding at the latest, he lived with his wife in the same house as his brother on the ground floor, just below him.

Eduard Meyer had traded in watches and gold articles but his business had gone bankrupt as early as 1930. Since that time, he no longer had a steady income. His wife Harriet had been an office worker prior to the marriage, possibly continuing to be gainfully employed when she was married. In Oct. 1939, she passed away, and in Sept. 1940, Eduard Meyer got married a third time, this time to Bertha Valck. She worked at the Jewish Nursing Home on Schäferkampsallee, where she also had her accommodation until getting married. She earned 102 RM a month there. Perhaps she was a co-worker of Arnold Meyer.

Since Feb. 1939, Lona and Walter Heldberg were indicated in the Jewish religious tax card file as subtenants of the Meyers.

On 25 Oct. 1941, the two Meyer couples and their subtenants, along with seven other occupants of the same house, were deported to Lodz.
