Alwine de Levie, née Herz, born 10/17/1859 in Velde/East Friesland or Oelde/Münsterland, deported to Sobibor on 7/13/1943 and murdered there on 7/16/1943

Alwine de Levie spent most of her life in Gelsenkirchen and in the Netherlands. In 1936, she was registered as a member of the Hamburg Jewish Community with the address Maria-Louisen-Strasse 55, with Philipps. On March 13th, 1937, she left the Community; her card was marked "to Utrecht.” On July 13th, 1943, she was transported from the Westerbork internment in Holland to the Sobibor extermination camp in Poland and murdered there on July 16th, 1943.
