The couple lived on Fuhlentwiete, am Heidberg and on Husumer Straße in Eppendorf. Hans Manfred Scheier worked as a typesetter and printer, at times apparently working for Hapag, before he was no longer able to find a means of earning money after the November Pogrom of 1938. His family received their deportation orders at Rothenbaumchaussee 83 where lived in a sublet with Alegra Benezra who was deported a mere four weeks later.
