Simon Cohen, also called Siegfried, worked as a sales representative for the Rudolf Karstadt company. His parents were Semmi or Sammy Cohen and Johanna Hausmann. The parents of his wife Minna were Josef Oppenheim and Rebekka Wohl. Simon and Minna Cohen had two daughters, Ilse and Gerda. The family lived at Grindelallee 54, house 3, on the second floor from 1932 until they were forced to move to the "Jews’ house" at Ruschbahn 25a in 1941. On 11 July 1942, Simon, Minna, Ilse, and Gerda Cohen were deported to Auschwitz murdered. Ilse was sixteen years old, Gerda was twelve.
