Meta Emma Anna Lübkemann, born on 27 Mar. 1902 in Poggensee/District of Lübeck, died on 9 July 1944 in the Langenhorn General Hospital

Püttenhorst 82 (Nettelnburg)

Meta Emma Anna Lübkemann was born on 27 Mar. 1902 as daughter of Wilhelm Böttcher and his wife Magdalene, née Oldag, in Poggensee/then District of Lübeck.
In Hamburg-Bergedorf, Feldstrasse 15, their first child, their son Hans Heinrich, was born out of wedlock on 6 Nov. 1919.

After marrying Wilhelm Heinrich Lübkemann, Meta had five more children: Gretel, Lore, Jürgen, Uwe, and Kurt.

Because her oldest son Hans did not return to the front as a young Wehrmacht soldier, but fled to the Netherlands, Meta became a victim of the Nazis. She suffered under the regime and lost her life because she could not withstand the strain of repeated searches of her home and interrogations by the Gestapo. On 17 May 1944, she was forcibly committed to the psychiatric ward of the Langenhorn General Hospital (Ochsenzoll). There she died on 9 July 1944, after 54 days, at the age of 42, allegedly of debilitation.
