Heymannstrasse 24 (Liliencronstrasse 24)

Emilie Gerechter was married to the general manager Robert Gerechter, who was a native of Borek near the city of Posen (Poznan). The marriage produced daughter Gertrud. Later, she worked as an office clerk, for a while also as a tailor, and gave birth to her illegitimate child Dagmar on 21 Mar. 1931. Until Robert Gerechter’s death on 9 May 1937, the family lived together at what was then Liliencronstrasse 24, which was renamed Heymannstrasse in 1950.

When Robert Gerechter had passed away, Emilie, Gertrud, and Dagmar Gerechter went to Prague in 1937. We do not know how and where they lived there. Emilie and Gertrud Gerechter were deported on 16 Oct. 1941 from Prague to the Lodz Ghetto. Emilie evidently perished there but we do not know when and how. A cousin who submitted Pages of Testimony for both women assumes that Gertrud came to death in Warsaw. We have no information about Dagmar’s subsequent fate.
