The married couple Victor and Olga Werner, née Seligmann, lived with their six children, first at Alten Rabenstrasse 18, then at Woldsenweg 16. Victor Werner was a businessman and until 1926 co-owner of the firm Gradenwitz & Co. (machine exports); from 1927, he was co-owner of the Plambeck Coffee Roasting House, then, presumably until 1939, an employee of the Keitel Roasting House in Hamburg. As to the professional training or activity of Olga Werner nothing is known; the indications are that she was a "housewife.”
The family was Evangelical Lutheran, but in December 1939, the Werners, like all those determined to be Jews by the Nuremberg Laws, had to join the "Jewish Religion Association.”
Of the six children, all but Marion were rescued by the Children’s Transport and survived in Brazil, New Zealand, and Great Britain. Marion remained with her parents. She attended the Helene Lange School (since 1935, the "Hansa Upper Secondary School”) from Easter 1933 to 18 November 1938 (Reich Ordinance of 11.15.1938). Olga, Victor, and Marion Werner were deported on 25 October 1941 to Lodz. On 15 September 1942, the family was sent on to the "Kulmhof” (Chelmno) extermination camp. Here the trail ends, presumably because they were murdered on the same day.
