Gertrud Baruch, born on 23 Oct. 1892 in Hamburg, deported on 11 July 1942 to Auschwitz
Bogenstraße 23
Gertrud Baruch’s parents were Julie Baruch, née Abel, and Meyer Baruch. Her father was a merchant. At the end of the nineteenth century, the Jewish family lived at Marktstraße 15 a. Gertrud Baruch remained unmarried. She worked at an advisory center, probably at the Jewish Community, which listed her as a member since 1919. In 1941 and 1942, she still paid small membership dues as well. At the time of the national census in May 1939, Gertrud Baruch resided at Innocentiastraße 51. Before being deported to Auschwitz on 11 July 1942, she lived in the "Jews’ house” ("Judenhaus”) at Bundesstraße 43. Like all other deportees on the transport, she was probably murdered immediately, and she was declared dead after the war.
